Eleanor Garrow-Holding is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field Non-Profit
Management. Eleanor is the President and CEO of Food Allergy Anaphylaxis Connection Team. (FAACT) Originally inspired to enter the food allergy awareness industry after her son Thomas was diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies, asthma and additional environmental allergies, Eleanor has now devoted her career to helping individuals suffering with food allergies and informing not just restaurants and schools, but the general public to spread awareness.
In this position for the past twelve years, Eleanor’s areas of concentration include awareness and advocacy, community outreach, non-profit organization management, program and event management and more. She develops food allergy guidelines for schools as well as education programs for various conferences, and is responsible for the oversight of the organization’s daily operations and marketing needs. Furthermore, Eleanor has contributed various articles for Allergic Living and Living Without magazines and through her work with the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, (FAAN) she was the recipient of the FAAN Honorable Mention Award in April 2007. Eleanor also received the Mariel C.
Furlong Award for Making a Difference for Community Service as a Support Group Leader a year later in March 2008. A testament to her success, Eleanor helped raise over $135,000 in 2007 and $175,000 in 2008 as Walk Chair for the Chicago Walk for Food Allergies. Furthermore, Eleanor sits on the NFEA Board for the National Peanut Board, and is on the National Advisory for the St. Louis Food Allergy Education and Management as well. In addition, she is a member of the Association of Food and Drug Official Food Allergens and the National Association of Professional Women, where she was recognized as a VIP Woman of The Year for her ongoing success and countless efforts.
In her spare time, Eleanor enjoys boating, cooking, travel and volunteer work. She is charitable towards organizations such as the American Cancer and Heart Associations. An alumni of Lewis University, Eleanor graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration.
