Designer for Silver Mist Garden Center. An award-winning landscaping business, Silver Mist Garden Center has a range of landscaping solutions to help make your outdoor space perfect. A member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, American Association of University Women and National Association of Professional Women, Erika’s areas of expertise include horticulture, landscape architecture and design, sustainable design, and site planning. She is also a talented, locally recognized acrylic painter.
Throughout the course of her seven year career, she designed and installed a public butterfly garden and public watershed garden at George Mason High School in Falls Church, VA as well as a Victorian Native Shade Garden in Frady Park in Falls Church, VA. She has also designed and installed many rain gardens, native shoreline plantings, and hardscape features like paver brick patios and retaining walls. She is thrilled to make each of her creations unique and tailored to the client’s needs and the specific site. Erika graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University with her Bachelor of Science’s degree in Landscape Architecture. She also studied abroad for a semester at the University of Sheffield, England studying ecological Landscape Architecture. She has also spent several months in Europe — France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland — traveling around in order to specifically study European methods of sustainable gardening and architecture.
