An exceptional entrepreneur and executive with extensive professional experience in the banking, insurance, refinery plant
management, and the on- and offshore construction industries, Stephen E. Williams has emerged as a true innovator in numerous fields of business.
Over the course of his incredibly successful career, which spans over four decades, Stephen has consistently demonstrated the passion, vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the upper echelon in every industry he has participated in. As a result of his brilliant body of work and the enormous amount of success he has achieved in various industries throughout his entire occupational history, Stephen E. Williams has been accepted and recognized as a Pinnacle Professional in the prestigious network of prominent professionals with Continental Who’s Who.
A veteran of the United States Navy Special Forces, Stephen served in the military in the mid-to-late 1970s before starting his civilian career as Worldwide Construction Manager for Aquatic International. From there, he moved on to Marathon Oil, spending his first four years with the company in the role of Texas Operations Manager before serving as its President of U.S. Refining for a decade. In 1994, Stephen set his sights on the electrical arena, starting up Circuit Management, Inc., of which he currently serves in the role of Chairman and CEO. Producing products that benefit humanity, the company has proprietary patented technology that identifies and controls eight major electrical problems. The company has the ability to monitor, communicate and control electrical impulses from any wiring system in the world.
CMI has total sales and licenses in excess of $18.3 million along with technology costs of $1.87 million. With minimal operating costs, the company functions as a developmental think tank for high-level technology for NASA and several other prominent organizations. One of their proprietary patented technologies is known as the CMI breaker device, which is a sensor device that is composed of hardware and software components. This device has the ability to monitor a number of different parameters of an electrical system. The readings the device receives helps it to calculate whether the electrical system is operating within established norms by means of a calibration. The device locates numerous different failure modes related to electrical systems.
Once it diagnoses the particular failure mode, the CMI breaker device sends a signal indicating the type of failure before the failure occurs. When it detects a failure condition, the device removes power from the electrical system. A prototype of the device has yielded impressive results when tested on a 9,000-volt system by multiple companies, including Cooper Industries, Allanson International, Florida State University, NASA and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Utilizing the profits of CMI, Stephen established Edison Global Circuits LLC (EGC) in 2009, serving as its Chairman and CEO for six years. The company, which is currently known as Unilectric, has developed, tested and patented a unique and integrated multi-functioning product that is able to be used on a global scale.
Responsible for the first integrated turnkey home/business automation product which combines energy management, smart meter hardware and software ecosystem, EGC’s product represents a true quantum leap in cost-effective gateways, making the smart city possible today. While industry giants such as Lucent and Ericsson disclosed that this product would have taken them two years longer and $500-$600 million to build, EGC spent just $18.5 million in the building and development of this highly innovative global infrastructure product. With an estimated value of between $150 and $330 million, according to Foresight Valuations Group, a highly respected group of Stanford Business School professors, the company was sold for an undisclosed amount in 2015. In his role, Stephen is in the process of seeking C-suite and corporate board positions or high-level turnarounds in order to provide assistance to companies in the telecommunications, electronic design or manufacturing industries. A true pioneer and leader, he wishes to bring prospective companies to the next level through his philosophy of doing what is best for the company to »ensure that everything else will fall into place. Stephen has had a career filled with several major accomplishments, including heading an engineering and development team that was established to fill the void between what meter companies have been offering and what utilities companies need to service more than two billion customers.
The team, which was comprised of some of the best minds in the industry who invented dozens of products with more than a billion dollars in sales, was highly successful in this endeavor. The result of this project was a revolutionary multi-purpose gateway that enabled automation in homes and businesses across the globe through the provision of Internet, television, cable, banking, security, education and more. This led to the improvement of existing global technology, while also helping to raise whole segments of developing countries out of poverty. Endorsed by the United Nations, this smart country product platform has helped emerging markets around the world, with a combined population of over four billion, to elevate advanced communications, social advancement and improved GDP. Another of Stephen’s outstanding achievements was the development of a first-of-its-kind product for Mexico which possessed numerous first-in-engineering features.
The product was so ahead of the curve that it was written into law by the Mexican government, allowing it to own the gateway into homes and businesses as well as to receive money for the service. A well-respected expert in home automation, energy management and communications delivery, Stephen consulted with NASA to help them find electrical shorts in the shuttle and space station programs. After NASA initially found three shorts, Stephen and his team were able to identify over 300 utilizing the new technology that they invented and developed. Stephen has also been responsible for the development and monitoring of annual capital expenditure budgets that exceeded $43 million, while simultaneously reducing all cost structures, increasing plant production by 18 percent, and setting refining records. Additionally, he has worked with engineering research and development divisions at several companies, as well as NASA and some distinguished universities. Those projects involved scouting, evaluating and sourcing external innovation to complement and accelerate company-wide technology advancement.
In 1995, Stephen acted as an owner/investor, raising $3 million in seed money to start First Community Bank in Pearland, Texas. Along with numerous other branches, the bank was sold to Wells Fargo in 2004 for more than $137 million. Also during his time in the banking industry, Stephen purchased Express Bank in Alvin, Texas from Hall-of-Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan in 2002. Investors in that endeavor received 300-650 percent return on their initial equity investment. Stephen has also experienced a great deal of success in the area of turn-around workouts. He has been responsible for leading numerous successful campaigns to restructure and reorganize corporations, creating in excess of $280 million net revenues through restructuring and refinancing of debt, union negotiation and contract consolidation.
Despite the fact that he has accumulated an appreciable amount of his considerable expertise through his vast professional experience, Stephen is also an extensively educated individual who studied Harvard Strategic Business Development for CEOs. In addition, he is a Petroleum Pilot Engineering graduate of American Petroleum College. Further demonstrating his prolific performance as an entrepreneur and executive, Stephen has achieved a variety of accolades. He has served as a member of the President’s Forum and is a guest member of the Baker Institute. Stephen is also a member of the Houston Technology Center and International Society of Financial Mediators. In addition, he is listed on the Continental Who’s Who Registry of National Business Leaders and in the World Wide Who’s Who registry. With over four decades of sustained success as a pivotal player in multiple industries, it is obvious that Stephen has a clear comprehension of what is required in order to thrive in a professional environment.
Despite the fact that he has already experienced a great deal of prosperity throughout his career, Stephen is constantly striving towards further success in both the present and the future. Always identifying opportunities to improve products and services across various industries, Stephen is passionate about leading new teams to find better solutions. He is blessed with the ability to see past numbers and people, which is a vital attribute leading to a company’s future success. Stephen cuts through personal agendas for the overall good of an organization, allowing them to capitalize on growth opportunities.
A bona fide visionary and leader, Stephen has consistently created a culture where people are rewarded for their excellence and motivated to work past their beliefs and abilities. Never satisfied with the status quo, he seeks to improve every operation that he becomes a part of and commits himself fully to ensure that those goals are met. Stephen E. Williams can serve as an inspiration to us all when it comes to focusing on a task and getting the job done.
