Colleen McDuff is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Legal Services.
Colleen is the Director of Legal Education and Appeals with the Manitoba Prosecution Service. An integral asset to the Manitoba Justice system, the Manitoba Prosecution Service is responsible for the prosecution to the majority of criminal offenses in Manitoba including those relating to Provincial Statutes. Possessing over 20 years of industry experience, Colleen has prosecuted all manner of cases and spent several years in the Domestic Violence Unit, ultimately taking over as Supervisor of the Unit in 2007. In 2012, she was appointed as the Director of Legal Education & Appeals and currently works in the areas of training and development, general oversight of the Appeal Unit.
She also oversees the service’s educational programs and curriculum development for students and lawyers from across the Province. In addition to her work with the Manitoba Prosecution Service, Colleen is a lecturer at the University of Manitoba Law School, Winnipeg Police Academy and RCMP. When asked about what has kept her in her career for so long, Colleen states: “I’ve always been interested in the Criminal Law so the nature of the work is something I’ve always enjoyed. The fast-paced nature of the work along with knowing that no two days will be the same also allows me to maintain a level of excitement regarding what the next day will bring.”
As a member of the Manitoba and Canadian Bar Associations Colleen sits on the Wellness Board aimed at assisting lawyers in crisis across the country. She is also a member of the Law Society of Manitoba; Colleen earned both her B.A. and LL.B. from the University of Manitoba. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son and traveling.
