Jo Anne W. Norris

Jo Anne W. Norris is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Education as a result of her role as School Counselor with the Columbia Borough School District. With a curriculum and various programs targeted to boost social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth, Columbia Borough School District provides children with the essentials to develop skills for a future of success and a lifetime of prosperity.

The daughter of a teacher and a school counselor, Norris was destined to be a school counselor and special education consultant. She has been a school counselor for twenty three years specializing in behavior modification and crisis intervention, educational leadership, special education and more. In this capacity, Norris works with children living with ADHD, anxiety, depression and other issues. She is also involved in the school counseling curriculum development for students in grades K-12. To further her professional development, Norris is a member of the American School Counseling Association, Pennsylvania School Counseling Association and Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Norris is Board Certified through the National Board for Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a National Certified School Counselor (NCSC). Norris is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Norris is also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an Education Honor Society. Throughout her educational career, Norris received her Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Delaware following receipt of her Bachelor of Science in Education in Communicative Disorders from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

 

In addition to being certified as a school counselor, Norris is certified as a supervisor of pupil services leadership and is working on her doctorate in Pupil Services Leadership at Widener University. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and travel. She is the mother of two children, Charles H. (Chuck), who was killed by a drunk driver at age 15, and Joanna I., who is a banking associate.
