Karen E. Jez is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her contributions to the field of Education. Titusville Area School District caters to the educational needs of the students of the Pennsylvania area. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, Jez assisted family members with the butchering of cattle, and transitioned into education as a teacher later on. Jez worked her way up from positions including classroom teacher, middle school principal and assistant superintendent, to her current position of Superintendent of the Titusville Area School District.
She prides herself on hard work and dedication over the course of a career that spans over 30 years in the field, with the past 11 in her present role. “In my art room, my students were treated like biological children and I loved them all,” Jez said. “My advice to individuals entering education administration is that students have to be the center of all decisions,” Jez said.
She utilizes what she calls the “three induction model” in coordinating with board members. Throughout the course of her educational career, Jez earned her Master of Science degree and a letter of eligibility from Westminster College. Jez served as the Past President of the Pennsylvania Middle School Association, is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators and is a Board Member of the Pennsylvania Rural and Small Schools Association. When not working, Jez enjoys art, gardening and traveling with her sons. She has also volunteered as the Past President of the Titusville Area United Way Board. Jez dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her late father, Byron A. Enos and to her mother, Eleanor L. Enos. Both were educators for over 30 years.
