Lisa H. Aofrate, EdD

Lisa H. Aofrate, Ed.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her contributions to the fields of Professional Development and Writing. As a Professional Development Training Consultant, Dr. Aofrate utilizes her research and expertise for training collegiate instructors in the reading, writing, and mathematics fields towards student persistence.

She also bases her methods of teaching and experience on several religious and spiritual traditions she has studied. “I have studied the major – and some minor – religions, sects, cults, and religious orders of the world as a formal scholar and as a life student, Dr. Aofrate said. I grew up with a good foundation in psychology and sociology under my mother’s tutelage, and have informally studied and practiced for over 40 years.” Dr. Aofrate earned her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from Walden University. Prior, she attained her Master of Science degree in Education from Western Oregon University, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Western Oregon University.

To further her professional development Dr. Aofrate is a VIP Member of the National Association of Professional Women, a member of American Writers and Artists Inc., a member of Writer’s Market, and a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She also devotes her time to several foundations including Liberty House, Family Building Blocks, Amnesty International, other local charities, and sits on the Board of an ecological nonprofit organization, the Ocean Blue Project. When not working, Dr. Aofrate enjoys music – specifically playing the piano and singing in choir.

 

She also participates in outdoor activities including hiking and rafting. She dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her grandmother, Irma Lee Holtsclaw, as well as to her first Doctoral Chair, Dr. George McMeen.
