Rita Kaul

Rita Kaul is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Oil and Gas field. Kaul formerly served as the HSSE and Compliance Manager at Shell Aviation Americas of Shell Oil companies. She worked in the role for eight years and brought over 18 years of experience, as well as expertise in compliance, leadership, organizational and risk management and safety management, to her role. “We are a global group of energy and petrochemical companies with an average of 92,000 employees in more than 70 countries,” Shell’s website states. “We use advanced technologies and take an innovative approach to help build a sustainable energy future.”

Prior to beginning her career at Shell, through Shell Aviation as well as Americas at Shell Oil, Kaul served in the United States Air Force from 1979-1985. She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Houston. “I am a highly experienced and effective leader who has demonstrated the ability to lead diverse teams to achieve new levels of success in safety and health in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving global petrochemical industry,” Kaul said. “I have a solid track record with 18 years of broad experience in progressively responsible positions in the safety, health and environmental sectors.” Currently, Kaul serves as an Independent Consultant in the oil and gas industry.

 

She recently landed a contract consulting for Phillips 66. To further her professional development, Kaul is a current member of the National Association of Professional Women. During her tenure at Shell, she volunteered her time to the Shell Mentoring Group, and cites Julie Laviolette as her professional mentor. When not working, Kaul devotes time to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She also enjoys basketball, painting and travel, and claims “A Prayer for Owen Meamy” by John Irving as her favorite novel.
