Continental Who’s Who recognizes Richard M. Gold, Ph.D. as a Pinnacle Professional Member in recognition of his contributions to the field of Music Therapy. Dr. Gold is the President and Executive Producer of Metta Mindfulness Music, a production company that provides holistic healing through music therapy. He brings expertise in Chinese Medicine, psychology, mental and natural health, stress management and treatment to his role.
According to it’s website, the mission statement of Metta Mindfulness Music is “to create beautiful original music that enhances health, mental equanimity and the daily expression of loving kindness” as well as “to create original music that is informed by ancient wisdom traditions and the most current advances in neuroscience and music therapy research” and “to engage performing artists in recording music for the purpose of promoting healing and well-being through sound.” Dr. Gold holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Humanistic Studies (1983) and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Oberlin College (1972).
He is also holds a Diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (1978). In addition to his working resume, Dr. Gold has published a book titled Thai Massage: A Traditional Medicine Technique. To further his professional development, Dr. Gold is a member of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA), as well as the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, of which he is a founding board member. Currently, Dr. Gold serves on the Governing Board of Directors of the California Institute for Human Science. When not working, Dr. Gold enjoys gardening, hiking, cooking and travel.
