Christian N. Nwankwo, MD

Christian N. Nwankwo, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of his contributions to the Medical field. The mission of Capital Primary Care reads as follows on its website: “At Capital Primary Care, Inc., and Capital Pediatrics, our concern is for the physical, mental and emotional well-being of all our patients – young and old. We know that when patients walk through our doors, they had the option of going somewhere else. Our efforts, from that point on, are to earn your trust and confidence in our ability.”

Since his childhood, Dr. Nwankwo found doctors to be “wonderful people,” and knew that he wanted to enter the profession from a young age. “I love family medicine because a wide range of areas are covered,” he said. As a Family Physician at Capital Primary Care, Dr. Nwankwo utilizes 21 years of expertise in the field. He also serves as an Assistant Professor at Howard University and a Faculty Adjunct at the University of Maryland. Dr. Nwankwo earned his Master’s degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Medical Institute and went on to complete his Medical degree from the University of Ibadan.

He then completed his residency at Howard University Hospital and is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. To further his professional development, Dr. Nwankwo is a member of the American Medical Association, the Maryland State Medical Society and the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians. On his time off from work, he enjoys golf and reading. When asked for his advice for young people entering the field, Dr. Nwankwo says the following: “Don’t do it for the money. Go into it because you love it, love the patients and love helping humanity.” Dr. Nwankwo dedicates this recognition to his wife, Cecilia A. Nwankwo, M.D., for her continuing love and support, as well as his four children – three of whom are doctors. For more information, visit www.capitalprimarycare.com.
