Elizabeth Anne Yager, M.D.

Elizabeth Anne Yager, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in recognition of her contributions to the field of Psychiatry. Psychiatrist at Carilion Clinic and Co-Section Chief at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, Dr. Yager has worked in psychiatry for 37 years and has spent seven in her current role. Dr. Yager’s areas of expertise include all facets of psychiatry and teaching residents. According to its website, the Carilion Clinic is a “not-for profit health care organization based in Roanoke, Va.

Through [its] comprehensive network of hospitals, primary and specialty physician practices and other complementary services, [the staff] works together to provide quality care close to home for nearly one million Virginians.” Its mission is to “improve the health of the communities [it serves]” and its vision statement reads as follows: “We are committed to a common purpose of better patient care, better community health and lower cost.” Carilion Clinic specializes in a wide range of services including cancer care, heart care, gastroenterology, pediatrics, orthopedics and psychology.

 

Dr. Yager is Board Certified in Psychiatry. Attaining her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Yager completed her residency as well as a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, Dr. Yager has been named a Lifetime Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
