Calandra Eddington, R.N., B.S.N., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the Nursing field. Eddington’s professional title is Case Manager and Registered Nurse at Medical Center of Arlington. She brings expertise in offering caring, compassionate healthcare as well as expert case management to her role. “Originally opened in August of 1976 as Arlington Community Hospital in a rural part of town, Medical City Arlington has developed into a 366-bed full-service hospital located in the heart of the growing South Arlington area,” the hospital’s website states. “There are well over 1,000 full-time and part-time nurses, therapists, technicians and other healthcare personnel that make up our team. Medical City Arlington is proud to be a leader in Dallas/Fort Worth healthcare, with nearly 600 highly skilled physicians who represent a wide variety of medical specialties.
Together we form a team that is focused on high-quality care delivered safely.” “The highlights of my career come when patients call me ‘angel’ or an ‘inspiration,’” Eddington said. “I am inspired by the Tuskeegee Experiment on Black people, and the keys to my success are listening to my mentors and preceptors, keeping an open mind and staying humble and coachable. Keep God first and develop a love for nursing.” Eddington earned her Registered Nurse designation as well as her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is also a certified CPR instructor. In addition to her work through Medical City Arlington, Eddington is a Registered Nurse on Call at Tarrant County College, as well as an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay, Inc.
Prior to joining the team at Medical City Arlington, Eddington served as a Nurse Home Visitor/Nurse Family Partnerships at WiNGS Dallas; a Registered Nurse – PRN at the Medical Center of Arlington; a Registered Nurse at Matlock OB/GYN; a Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse/Clinical Coordinator at the Medical Center of Arlington; and a Student Nurse at JPS Health Network. To further her professional development, Eddington is a member of INA, Golden Key and Black Nurses Rock, which performs community service activities. When not working, she enjoys working out – specifically boxing, zip lining, and traveling. Eddington dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her father, Carl Eddington; and to her mother, Brenda Eddington, who she thanks for her love and support.
