Marie Lois Haran, R.N., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year in the field of Nursing. Haran’s professional title is Retired Nurse Consultant at AskA-Nurse, which specializes in nursing, healthcare and medical care. She has worked in the industry for 44 years, and utilizes her extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially nurse consulting, in her role. She founded Ask-A-Nurse in 1996, and provided nursing services to her clients.
As a nurse consultant, Haran reviewed medical records for adult and pediatric patients involved in malpractice lawsuits, testified as a nurse expert witness and met with attorneys to review issues prior to trial. “By founding Ask-A-Nurse, I have provided an important nursing legacy for years to come,” Haran said. Haran earned her Nursing Diploma in 1952 from the Brooklyn Hospital Center, where she became a Registered Nurse. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from St. John’s University in 1960, followed by a Master of Science degree in Medical and Surgical Nursing from Hunter College in 1967.
She is also a Certified Basic Cardiac Life Support Instructor. To further her professional development, Haran is a member of the International Nursing Association, which is part of Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. She also volunteers her time and talents to the U.S. Army Museum, and to numerous charities dedicated to helping animal welfare. When not working she enjoys puzzle solving. In recognition of her outstanding career accomplishments, Haran has worked in many senior positions in the nursing field, and is the recipient of several awards and recognitions. Haran dedicates this recognition to her son, Daniel Jerome (DJ).
