Karen L. Kline is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Veterinary field. Dr. Kline’s professional title is Veterinary Neurologist at VCA, which specializes in veterinary services and animal care. She brings 28 years of career experience, along with expertise in leadership and veterinary neurology, to her role – in which she has worked for the past nine years. Prior to joining the team at VCA, Dr. Kline served as Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. She came to VCA in 2008 and was later promoted from her original position to that of Medical Director.

Dr. Kline earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. She then went on to complete a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1990, followed by a neurology residency, also at the Animal Medical Center. Following her residency, Dr. Kline worked as a staff neurologist at the Animal Medical Center, and became Board Certified in veterinary neurology through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

She then earned her Master’s degree in Veterinary Pathology from Iowa State College, and completed her thesis on Immunohistochemical Differentiation of Canine Inflammatory and Infectious diseases. In 2000, Dr. Kline also became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture. To further her professional development, Dr. Kline is a member of the National Association of Professional Women. When not working, she volunteers her time to Planned Parenthood and various human rights-related causes. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and her two dogs, cat and parrot, and spending time outdoors. Dr. Kline dedicates this recognition to her mentors, Dr. Sally Haddock and Dr. Bill Fenner; as well as to the loving memory of her parents, Lois and Herman Kline.
