Kate McGartland

Kate McGartland is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Hospitality as a result of her role as Owner of the Wood Duck Bar & Grill. Home to the famous horseshoe burger, the Wood Duck Bar & Grill is a popular spot for great food and drinks in a fun, family-oriented and laid back atmosphere. Amassing over fifteen years of experience, McGartland is a seasoned hospitality professional and the recipient of the 2015 Renewed Vision award from her local Chamber of Commerce.

As Owner, McGartland handles all things from advertising to marketing, event planning and customer service. Additionally, she utilizes her background in graphic design to help market the bar in addition to doing freelance work. McGartland has been employed as a Liquor Consultant and Sales Rep with Wirtz Beverage of Illinois. In addition, she has held the positions of assistant editor, graphic design specialist and general manager at a local newspaper and spent three years as a House Manager at the Carlinville Elks Lodge. McGartland specializes in Advertising, Customer Service, Event Planning, Graphic Design, Marketing Strategy and Sales Management.

A member of the National Association of Professional Women, McGartland maintains affiliation with Shop Local and The Carlinville Elks Lodge. Throughout the course of her educational career, Kate earned her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and drawing from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville. When she is not working, McGartland enjoys being outdoors, golfing, and spending time with family outside of work. McGartland is Dedicating this recognition to her family for their love and support.
