Albert C. Koetsier

Albert C. Koetsier is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2017 Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Art. With 65 years of experience working with photography, Koetsier has worked in his current position as Manager and Artist at Beyond Light for the past 22 years. Koetsier was born in the Netherlands and became “fascinated with the concept of photography” at age eight. He “shortly thereafter built his first homemade camera” with “an old matchbox with a pair of magnifying glasses, one on the side facing out and another attached on the inside.” Throughout the course of his career, Koetsier specialized in the areas of Artistic Black and White Photography, Artistic X-Ray Photography, and speaks 4 languages fluently. Certified to teach Art and Science in California, Koetsier’s specializes in the areas of Art Direction; Higher Education; Science; X-Ray Art Production; Technical Knowledge and Visual Arts. Prior to starting his own photography business, Koetsier earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Netherlands’ primary technical university. At the same time, he also earned a “side degree” in X-Ray Engineering through a program administered by Philips medical systems, where he worked as an x-ray specialist. He served two years in the military as an officer and while he was in on a service trip, he found himself in “the town where Roentgen discovered x-rays.” It was there that he found photographs of everyday objects created with x-rays and told himself that “someday [he] would do this.” Today, Koetsier, who spent many years showcasing his work in art shows, has shifted “his focus away from travel and art shows and decided to focus on his art from home.” He also teaches adult education classes in the arts and technology at the University of California Riverside and San Marcos campuses.
