Mrs. Lerato Pretorius

Mrs. Lerato Pretorius is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a VIP Member in the fields of Rail Contracting and Construction. Pretorius is currently the CEO of Polyzomba Rail Contractors, a full-service rail contracting and construction firm based in Randburg, Johannesburg that takes on projects both locally and abroad. As per the company’s mission statement on their website, “Our company strives uncompromisingly to be the preferred wholly black owned rail track and civil works construction and maintenance company in Africa...In living up to our mission, we strive to: Satisfy our clients; Be considered a preferred service provider in our industry; Provide quality service to the railway and construction industry; Create job opportunities; Be abreast of developments in our field; Provide opportunities for a trained workforce; Work safely.” With nearly 12 years in her current position, Pretorius’ areas of professional expertise include project management operations, Information Technology, Mentoring, Banking, and Strategic Planning. Additionally, she is the Founder and current Chair of the Board of Directors for the Lehlaka Group, a company that is 100% black female owned and managed. Lehlaka’s website explains that, “Our mission is to empower individuals and capacitate organizations by exploiting the synergies of various skills in the business sectors by convergence.” It goes on to explain Pretorius’ path and vision regarding the company, stating, “She worked for Barclays Bank in Maseru Lesotho for 10 years. She then moved to Standard Bank South Africa Head Office in Retail Division for promotion of new products. Lerato moved to Investec Private Bank where she was an Accounts Manager. She has done Business-to-Business Marketing through UNISA. She started her own businesses, then Joined IFusion’s empowerment wing in the IT industry as a Business Development Director, after which she started Lehlaka Technologies with the vision of running a successful Black Female company and empowering females and youth in the predominantly male dominated ICT environment.” She earned her MBA in Project Management from the Business Management Success Institute, and, since then, she has maintained affiliations with numerous prestigious organizations, including the International Directors of South Africa, and Stanford Who’s Who. She is also certified in Banking Studies and Travel. Pretorius says that her current success is due to her desire to know and learn all the aspects of the company. Her future goals include expanding her business internationally, and to compete with other international companies. She dedicates this recognition to her children Anthony and Chante Pretorius.
