Dr. Ronald Probstein

Dr. Ronald Probstein is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2017 Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Engineering and Education fields. Dr. Probstein serves as Ford Professor of Engineering, Emeritus at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His expertise lies in the areas of fluid mechanics. He is considered one of America’s foremost engineering scientists. The importance of Dr. Probstein’s work is brought out by the fact that a number of his books, published some time ago, have been reprinted within the last few years, including one high temperature gas physics, one on hypersonic glow, one on physicochemical hydrodynamics and this spring, he will be publishing one on synthetic fuels. Over the course of his career, he has written 12 books, six patent and over 125 technical papers to his credit. In addition to his scientific published works, Dr. Probstein wrote and published Honest Sid: A 5-star memoir of my father’s adventures in the world of fighters & fixers, players & suckers in #Depression-era NYC. Dr. Probstein earned his Ph.D. from Princeton University. To further his professional development, he is a member of the Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Engineering, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In recognition of his outstanding work in the field, Dr. Probstein has been named to the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, the International Academy of Astronautics and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Brown University.
