Joyce Abel, M.Ed., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the field of Education. Abel’s professional title is Science Teacher at the Richland County School District One. She has served in her current position for the past five years, and brings over 45 years of total career experience, as well as extensive expertise in teaching, to her role. “Richland One is a nationally accredited school district building on a rich history and tradition of excellence,” the district’s website states. “Our 23,000 students represent 50 countries and as many languages. Prior to joining the Richland One district, Abel served as the UniServ Director at the South Carolina Education Association for two and a half years, and then went on to teach Physical Science and Chemistry at Richland School District Two, for 11 years. Abel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from South Carolina State University, and then went on to complete her Master of Education degree with a focus in Secondary Science from the University of South Carolina. She is also certified to teach Secondary Education. To further her professional development, Abel is a member of the National Education Association as well as the South Carolina Education Association. When not working, Abel volunteers her time to United Way in its Hope for the Holidays program. She also enjoys reading mysteries.
