Anne Williamson Shumaker is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of journalism. Anne is a freelance journalist with a focus on politics and science.
Anne is a retired teacher who currently specializes in writing about politics, science, cultural, and environmental topics. She writes for three different papers and is very involved with creating and overseeing fundraisers within her community.
Additionally, Anne is president of her local Lions Club. She is the second female in 74 years to serve as president of the club. Anne is also a trustee at her undergraduate alma mater—Judson College in Marion, Alabama (where she majored in biology and minored in Spanish). She is involved with her church, the local Red Cross county chapter, and numerous other community, state, and national organizations. She participated in teacher and space program and was selected as an alternate for the state of Alabama. She received the Alumna Loyalty Award from Judson College National Alumnae Association in April 2012. In 2010, she received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award in recognition of Community and Humanitarian Service.
Anne holds a Masters Degree in biology and education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
