Joy Parker Blackwood is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Consulting as a result of her role as President of Waypointers Inc., a company primarily dedicated to the management of relocation processes for senior citizens, nationally and internationally. With over 30 years of experience in the business world, Joy turned the difficult journey of moving her mother from Florida to Toronto into a business venture benefitting senior citizens. As President of Waypointers Inc., Joy oversees all daily operations and ensures that the company assists senior citizens with psychological issues involved in stressful transitions as well as preparing organizational plans with timelines and budget managing the distribution and/or liquidation of possessions, financial assistance, legal assistance, real estate; packing and sorting; personal travel; sourcing new residences and liaising with the facilities; touring facilities with clients; interior decorating; arranging for trucking companies and transportation; after-move ongoing personal care and financial management.
Joy’s formal education was in theatre and music, and although she attended University, she did not complete a degree as an exciting career opportunity became available in Industrial Show business. This venture eventually led Joy to hold roles as Director of Human Resources, Vice President, President and Owner.
Currently, Joy is involved with community initiatives including a position as Executive Director with the C.R. Vint Foundation. In addition, she is a Director and Vice President for a notfor-profit aviation and aerospace award program, “Northern Lights Award Foundation”. This foundation is very close to Joy’s heart as she is very passionate about flying. She holds certification as a Private Pilot, has certification as a Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) International Judge, and held the role as 1st Vice President in the FAI’s General Aviation Commission. She is currently the Director of Marketing with the Aero Club of Canada and the Canadian delegate to the FAI, General Aviation Commission.
