Dr. Daroff serves as a Professor and Chair Emeritus of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Beginning both his academic and medical careers with a 12th Grade Certificate from the University of Chicago, where he roomed with Carl Sagan, Dr. Daroff earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1957 and then continued at the university to earn his Medical degree in 1961.
He then completed a rotating internship at Philadelphia General Hospital after which he became a Neurology resident at Yale- New Haven Medical Center
