Michael J. Giuffrida, MD, FACS, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as a Laparoscopic Surgeon at New York Surgical Partners (NYSP).
NYSP is committed to providing excellent surgical care in a friendly and individualized environment. They focus on maintaining trust and confidence, leading to lasting relationships with their patients. Dr. Giuffrida has served for the Partners since July of 2011. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures of the abdominal wall and gastrointestinal tract. He performs robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, including hernias and abdominal reconstruction.
Highly trained, Dr. Giuffrida’s educational and post-education training is unparalleled to many surgeons in his field. He first attended Boston College for undergraduate studies, Hofstra University for a master’s degree and SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for a medical degree. He went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, followed by an internship and a residency at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan. He then transitioned to Children’s Hospital Boston for a research fellowship and Massachusetts General Hospital for an additional residency. He is certified to perform procedures with the daVinci Surgical System.
A frontrunner in his field, Dr. Giuffrida maintains affiliations with the American Medical Association. He has shared his breadth of expertise in numerous publications, including the Journal of Pediatric Surgery.
