Richard L. Tewell

Richard L. Tewell is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Artist in stained glass as the Owner of Custom Art Designs, LLC. 

Mr. Tewell is a classically trained artist who is an expert at stained glass, glass engravings, egg engravings, note cards, oil paintings, and all forms of watercolor-based art. His unique ability to work with an extensive line of media has set him apart in his field, making him undeniably unique and able to tailor each work to the desires of each client. An innovative and highly motivated artist, he has dedicated his professional life to enhancing the aesthetics and exquisiteness of his clients’ homes. On account of having forty years of experience as an artist, his work is constantly pursued by affluent clients.

For the last thirty years, Mr. Tewell has been staining glass, creating striking artistic productions. Once he became an expert, he started hosting stained glass classes for beginner and advanced students. For customers who live outside of the state of Illinois, he has an online shop and sells items on Custom Art Designs’ Facebook page such as stained glass with flowers, birds, and intricate designs.   

When Mr. Tewell is not busy in his studio, he shares his uncompromising kindness by donating to the Shiners Crippled Children’s Hospital. He is an avid lover of animals, frequently training Doberman Pinschers and quarter horses. He is currently learning to ride with Western Dressage Principles. Previously, he was a member of the NCPDP. 

Dedicated to his family, Mr. Tewell has two sons, one granddaughter, and two grandsons. He would like to dedicate this recognition to Georgie Cunningham, a longtime friend and a wonderful teacher of stained glass, and in loving memory of Kate Eshleman Piper City of Illinois who never gave up on him as a child and encouraged him to pursue art.
