Dr. Elizabeth F. te Groen Nee Rose., B.S., MB.Bch. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Communications and Media as a result of her role as Project Director with Newburg Children’s Museum of Natural History.
The Newburg Children’s Museum of Natural story is the only Natural History Museum between Springfield and St. Louis, and offers a variety of exhibits and articles of culture. There are eight rooms with exhibits and hands-on activities relevant to their primary goal of expanding the horizons of local children and young adults. The museum features four main domains including earth, water, sky and man. Before renovating the building and launching the museum, Elizabeth worked as an Orthopedic surgeon in South Africa. Thereafter she spent 25 years on an epidemiological investigation into causation of the high rate of esophageal cancer in certain tribal people.
This research meant traveling to many countries and was financed by NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. She has 47 published scientific papers under her belt and more published in collaboration with other scientists. In her current position, Elizabeth initiates and oversees projects at the museum, research, teaching and training.It is a not for profit enterprise run intirely by volunteers. She is a member of the Newburg Committee Revitalization Program Group, Arts Rolla, Audubon, Senior Companions, Kiwanis, Alumni of Medical School of Witwatersrand University and Rhodes University. Elizabeth received her MBBch. from Witwatersrand University, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Rhodes University.
